Embora a última edição se tenha concretizado em janeiro deste ano, fruto da greve dos atores e argumentistas de Hollywood, a madrugada desta segunda-feira, 16 de setembro, foi de Emmys, novamente. A cerimónia aconteceu no Peacock Theater, em Los Angeles, e trouxe várias surpresas, com “Shōgun”, “Baby Reindeer” e “Hacks” a levarem grandes prémios para casa.

Em primeiro lugar, “Shōgun”, que conta com o português Joaquim de Almeida no elenco, fez história ao vencer quatro prémios, incluindo o galardão de Melhor Série Dramática. É a primeira vez em 76 edições que este prémio é atribuído a uma série que não é falada em inglês.

A par disto, a produção já tinha conquistado 14 prémios nos Creative Arts Emmys, principalmente por questões técnicas. Além disso, Hiroyuki Sanada e Anna Saway trouxeram para casa os prémios de Melhor Ator e Melhor Atriz numa Série Dramática, sendo esta dupla de atores japoneses a primeira a conquistar estas distinções.

Outro projeto que dominou a noite foi “Baby Reindeer”, da Netflix. A minissérie arrecadou quatro Emmys, nomeadamente o de Melhor Escrita e o de Melhor Ator para Richard Gadd, o humorista responsável por ter transformado o facto de ter tido uma perseguidora numa série. Jessica Gunning, que dá vida a Martha, também se destacou ao vencer na categoria de Melhor Atriz Secundária numa Minissérie.

No campo da comédia, “Hacks” foi responsável por fazer aquilo que se julgava ser impensável: conseguiu o Emmy de Melhor Série de Comédia, batendo concorrentes de peso, como “The Bear”, que foi a grande vencedora da edição passada – e nesta venceu em 11 das 23 categorias para as quais estava nomeada. É o caso do galardão de Melhor Ator, atribuído a Jeremy Allen White, e Melhor Realização numa Série de Comédia.
